Private Apartment

Delivered with only electrical outlets in the ceilings, this newly built private apartment offered both a blank canvas and a clear set of constraints. Sloping ceilings give the two-storey home its distinctive, loft-like character, extending across the living areas, bedrooms and corridors. The brief called for lighting that would complement the client’s modern aesthetic, support comfortable movement through the home and adapt to different moods and moments.

The lighting concept began with a site visit. Rather than becoming a feature in its own right, light was conceived as a quiet backdrop, gently revealing form, texture and proportion. The scheme creates a series of intimate pools of light that shape the experience of the home, allowing the architecture and the client’s belongings to remain the focus.

Close coordination with manufacturers and specialists resulted in a cohesive luminaire palette designed for straightforward maintenance. Decorative luminaires, including pendants and floor lamps, were carefully coordinated to reflect the client’s individual style and bring personality to the scheme. The result is a warm and highly personal sanctuary, with an intuitive control system that adjusts the lighting for different times of day, moods and occasions at the touch of a button.
